(Stonington Legend ex Shy-Anne)
1977 Australian Stock Horse Mare
Ann was my 15th Birthday Present. She arrived on a cold, wet winter's night as a 3 year old filly in 1981. Despite numerous offers I refused to sell her. She died on the 28/11/2002 after a battle with drought and illness.

We were together almost 22 years.

Ann was a Stud Book Australian Stock Horse, by Stonington Legend, a racehorse who won races in Melbourne, out of Shy-Anne, a station mare from Queensland. Ann was bred by Alan Gleeson at Lockhart. These photos were taken in her later years. In all she is over 20 years old.

Anne worked sheep and cattle, went to Pony Club, won ribbons at shows, and taught many children (and some grown-ups too) to ride. Ann had one foal, Rhydian. She is best remembered by those she taught to ride and the disadvantaged children she worked with and taught that there really is such a thing as unconditional love.

Like her sire, Ann raced the wind. Of all the things we did together there was nothing quite like the rush of a gallop.

Much loved, always missed. Forever the Red Raider.
