An Honorary Arabian Stockhorse!
...all 8.1hh and 158kg of her!
Madison belonged to a neighbour, who was unable to find a farrier, The dry had taken a terrible toll on Maddy's hooves and she seemed to have been run over by one of the neighbour's bigger horses.
Glen s trimmed her twice at home (first trim 04/12/2006) and we were able to float her to our yard to make things a little easier. He trimmed her again after she had several photonic therapy sessions.
Maddy had her first photonic therapy treatment from Julia and received her first dose of Ever Moist, kindly donated by Jane of Better Off Bare in February 2007.
Maddy was not neglected or abused, she was dearly loved by her owner. She was loved enough for her owner to send her here for a month or so to treat her shoulders and her hooves.
As depressing as drought is, acts of kindness between neighbours are helping us all get through each day a little better.
Maddie's owner decided that she can not handle Maddie's hooves by herself. Due to the scarcity of trimmers Maddie was for sale to the right home. Maddie's papers are not available but she is branded and a purchaser may be able to trace her. On Saturday 18th May 2007, Maddie began her new life at Kings Hill Riding School, where she will be loved and cared for and a delight to the little riders who come to learn there.
Maddie Update:- Maddie has settled in well at King's Hill and was the star of her first weekend. She has now worn a rug and a saddle, has participated in bending races on lead, wandered into the house and was the stat of the King's Hill Riding Day 27/05/2007. She is shaping up as foreman material for King's Hill, having already laid down the law that MADDIE RULES! Terrific result for Maddie, we are so pleased she is fitting in so well at King's Hill.
